Prosper is back online. After a quiet period of over 6 months in which the SEC was reviewing the business the peer to peer lending company is back doing business.
The California based company was forced to stop brokering new loans temporarily while the SEC determined whether Prosper's loans should be classified as securities.
The growing niche lending business now has a second wind just at the moment when options for car loans and other credit has dried up.

The open period lasted a whole four days -- they've shut down again.
